Just had my rear wheel stolen in front of Duncan Hall this afternoon (Thu April 17) between 3:00PM and 5:00PM.
It's an Alexrim DC19 (black inside, chrome spokes, machined), hub, cog, etc. Really long presta valve.
It has Conti RACE Tires (the tire wall has the logo and stuff in yellow)
Also has a "MAE" spoke card in blue.
I guess it's just a lesson to remember to lock the frame and the tire/wheel not just the frame.
Damn, I'm surprised that someone would take a wheel in the middle of the day in a public area. I suppose I shouldn't be though, lots of stuff has been getting stolen lately.
that's jacked man. I used to just lock my front wheel and frame on my track bike, but it looks like I'll be having to lug the cable with me everytime too.
Fucking thieves these days. Gotta watch out for this kind of shit that's happening lately. Gotta lock up the whole fucking bike, PLUS your handlebars and pedals and toe cages and and and...
Lets put a bait bike out and wait for someone to steal it. Then we can confront the thief. It will be like "to catch a predator" but less awkward and embarrassing.
OR, we can just park all our bikes in one place, and lock them all together, in the open.. I usually leave mines in front for the art building, haven't had a problem so far.
If you guys are not too far from the BBC, you guys should park there. There are usually more than a handful of fixedgear's there at any given time. No one try's to steal shit over there as long as you park on the bottom near that cafe.
