Friday night ride

bhj1
i'll be in san carlos on friday night.  i'll be on my fixed gear and leaving for san jose around 8 or so. i'll probably just ride back down to the light rail station in mountain view for the remainder of the trip.  if anyone's in the area and wants ride give me call 408-391-0107.  bring your lights.  i'll be leaving from the coyote cantina on laurel street.

you can do this ride via the Alameda de las Pulgas from San Carlos all the way to Palo Alto, after that, ur gonna need to take the Foothill Expressway

or take Old County Road to Redwood City, then hop on Middlefield Rd, that will take you to Mountain View, just watch out for drunken Mexicans in the unincorporated area of Redwood City between Woodside Road and Marsh Road, not being racist, it is very true, be careful!

i'm going to SF to watch the Bicycle Film Festival, otherwise i would join you.

Re: Friday night ride

my friday night ride was great.  all told did 32 miles on the fg bike in making my way from south san jose to san carlos, and back, with some help from the light rail.  the ride back from san carlos to the light rail station in mountain view in the dark, with lights, was a kick.

bennett... i followed your route guidance for alameda de las pulgus.  i forgot about all the "little" hills on that road.  i had already put in 15+ miles by that time, carrying 20+ pounds of clothes, shoes, water and other shit in my backpack.  those little hills suddenly weren't so little anymore on a fg.  i'm pretty sure some of homeowners i passed weren't happy with my use of certain terms from the english language (oh look at that nice man riding his bike... what did he just say?).  by the time i got back down to the light rail station in mountain view i was spent.  not to mention the road surface quality on alma has got to be the worst in the county!  still thoroughly enjoyed the ride and there's nothing (well almost nothing) more exhilirating than riding at night with lights, especially on a fg.

next wednesday i get to commute to sf via a baby bullet train and my fg.  that's gonna be a good one.

hey thyna, i saw some nice argyle arm warmers that would make a fantastic ensemble with your ferrari skin-suit!  they were pearl izumi, so that might spruce your personal decor a bit.  actually, they were kinda cool looking and i'm thinking about picking them up for myself.  now if i can just find leopard skin riding shorts i'll be in business.  will try and make it out on tuesday night with you guys.  my work schedule just changed so it's going to be a little more difficult to get there on tuesdays.
