my friday night ride was great. all told did 32 miles on the fg bike in making my way from south san jose to san carlos, and back, with some help from the light rail. the ride back from san carlos to the light rail station in mountain view in the dark, with lights, was a kick.
bennett... i followed your route guidance for alameda de las pulgus. i forgot about all the "little" hills on that road. i had already put in 15+ miles by that time, carrying 20+ pounds of clothes, shoes, water and other shit in my backpack. those little hills suddenly weren't so little anymore on a fg. i'm pretty sure some of homeowners i passed weren't happy with my use of certain terms from the english language (oh look at that nice man riding his bike... what did he just say?). by the time i got back down to the light rail station in mountain view i was spent. not to mention the road surface quality on alma has got to be the worst in the county! still thoroughly enjoyed the ride and there's nothing (well almost nothing) more exhilirating than riding at night with lights, especially on a fg.
next wednesday i get to commute to sf via a baby bullet train and my fg. that's gonna be a good one.
